Ye shall not tempt the LORD your God, as ye tempted Him in Massah. “Deuteronomy 6:16′
Jeffrey and Lisa had been together for two years and getting to know one another. Although Jeffrey loved Lisa, she was difficult to please. She feels secure when things are going well. But when they are sour, she becomes irritable, nags and even doubts his love for her.
If you have ever had a relationship with someone who is unappreciative, ungrateful and complains a lot, you know that it can be frustrating. Pleasing people with this kind of attitude can be difficult. One will have to keep reassuring them.
In Scripture, the children of Israel displayed the same behavior as described above, especially when they were in trouble. They get overwhelmed every time they face a difficult situation. They murmur, complain and play the blame game. They get bitter at their leader and even at God. They make utterances expressing their doubt about God’s ability to save them out of a distressing situation and attempt to force His hand to do something.
Many believers are like the Israelites. We tend to express our distrust in God when we are in a wilderness experience. We doubt His power, second guess His promises or even think He doesn’t love us enough. What we don’t realize is that God can use our unpleasant experiences to transform us and make our lives better. Instead of testing and doubting God, we can trust in Him believing with a trustworthy, peacefully understanding that no matter what we going through God will always be there for us, He desires for us to receive the best and ask us to keep communicating with Him through prayers, and never give up, in order for Him to straightened our path and doing what is true and right in His eyes.
Let us pray:
Dear Lord, almighty Heavenly Father, thank You for being patient with me and loving me even with my many flaws and weaknesses. I am sorry for the times I doubted Your infinite love for me. Please forgive me for murmuring and complaining about You. Show me You’re mercy Lord, and pardon my ignorance. I pray You help me see beyond the unpleasant circumstances in my life. Keep me focused on Your promises. Teach me not to forget Your blessings help me to trust You with all my heart. Thank you Lord, almighty Heavenly Father, I pray this throughout the mighty glorious name of you’re beloved dear Son Jesus Christ. Amen.
Much LoVe, JoY, Peace and Blessings through Jesus Christ, our wonderful, infinite loving, almighty, glorious dear Lord, Saviour and Redeemer, in who we faithfully abide, trust, believe, and abundantly do receive throughout His marvelous righteous Word and truth fulfilling Holy Spirit.
