A froward man soweth strife: and a whisperer separateth chief friends.
“Proverbs 16:28′
This verse warns against the dangers of gossip and slander. It highlights the fact that those who spread malicious rumors and talk behind people’s backs will create strife and division, causing harm to relationships and friendships. It calls us to practice kindness and honesty in our speech, as these are the building blocks of healthy relationships.
In his letter to Timothy, Paul cautions against engaging in futile arguments with people who have corrupt minds and advises to steer clear of their company. These individuals are devoid of truth, yet believe themselves to be virtuous. They often overestimate their wisdom while lacking the godly understanding of a humble man of God.
As believers, it is our calling to cultivate a godly mindset and acknowledge the Lord in every aspect of our lives. We are encouraged to seek God for wisdom, to live uprightly, bear spiritual fruit through His empowering grace, and put our complete trust in Him. Those who heed this counsel and walk in accordance with the truth fulfilling Holy Spirit, bring glory to the Lord and experience growth in their relationship with Him.
Let us pray:
Dear Lord, almigthy Heavenly Father, help me to be cautious of those who sow discord and strife. Guard my heart and mind against their corrupting influence. Grant me wisdom to discern those who seek to cause division and separate me from Your truth. Help me to withdraw from their company and instead surround myself with those who love and serve You. May my thoughts and actions honor You and reflect Your truth to those around me. Thank you Lord, Almighty dear Heavenly Father. I pray this through the mighty glorious name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Much LoVe, JoY, Peace and Blessings through Jesus Christ, our wonderful, infinite loving, almighty, glorious dear Lord, Saviour and Redeemer, in who we faithfully abide, trust, believe, and abundantly do receive throughout His marvelous righteous Word and truth fulfilling Holy Spirit.
