Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. “James 1:3′
This verse on “James 1:3′ comes from the letter written by James, Jesus’s half brother, to Jewish Christians who had been scattered throughout the Mediterranean world because of persecution. People often say it is easy to believe in God when life is good. But in the event of the loss of someone we love, the loss of our job, or as a result of becoming seriously ill, what will happen to our faith? That is the real test of our faith. In addition to telling the persecuted Jewish Christians to be patient, James also tells them that we should develop patience through our circumstances, on which we are tested by God in our faith. It is through our circumstances that God helps us become the kind of people that glorify His name. Our strength to endure hardships does not come from ourselves; it comes from our almighty, sovereign, reigning, glorious Heavenly Father, who takes care of His children by shining His infinite love on them.
Don’t resent difficulties when they come. Pray for wisdom, and God will supply all you need to face persecution or adversity. He will give you patience and keep you strong in times of our circumstances.
Let us pray:
Dear Lord, almighty Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your blessings and for the circumstances in my life. Everything You put me through is for my benefit. I pray for Your wisdom and strength when life gets tough. Fill my heart with joy when troubles come my way for I know that You have better things planned for me. Thank You for always being there for me in my good and bad times. I pray this throughout the mighty glorious fulfilling name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Much LoVe, JoY, Peace and Blessings through Jesus Christ, our almighty wonderful, infinite loving, glorious, dear Lord, Saviour and Redeemer, in who we faithfully abide, trust, believe, and abundantly do receive throughout His marvelous righteous Word and His truth fulfilling Holy Spirit.
