Behold, all ye that kindle a fire, that compass yourselves about with sparks: walk in the light of your fire, and in the sparks that ye have kindled. This shall ye have of mine hand; ye shall lie down in sorrow “Isaiah 50:11‘
When the room suddenly gets dark, the first thing we do is to light a fire. When the way ahead of us gets dark, we tend to find our way out of the darkness by our own devices instead of waiting for God’s light. It’s our natural tendency to do it our way until we don’t see God’s way. When we light our own fire and walk by our own sight, God will allow it, but misery will follow.
Because Abraham was obedience and faithful, God promised him that his descendants would be more numerous than the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore “Genesis 22:17‘. Abraham lived under the light of that promise and followed God’s commands. But as the years passed, his wife Sarah became too old to bear a child naturally. It seemed that God had turned the light out. Faithful as he is, Abraham could not resist but agree when Sarah offered her servant to sleep with him so that they can have children through her. The plan worked at first but bitterness followed right after the servant got pregnant.
When we lose faith in God and try to work problems out on our own, we often end up with regrets and sorrow. Resist the urge to create your own light. Trust in the Lord for His divine timing is perfect.
Let us pray:
Dear Lord, almighty Heavenly Father, You are always in control. When life gets tough, help me to put my trust in You and wait patiently for Your directions. You are the light of my life. I pray for the presence of Your Holy Spirit in my life so I will never walk in the dark. Let Your light shine through the darkness of this world and bring us everlasting love, joy and peace. Thank you dear Lord, almighty Heavenly Father. I pray this throughout the mighty glorious, fulfilling name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Much LoVe, JoY, Peace and Blessings through Jesus Christ, our almighty wonderful, infinite loving, glorious, Saviour and Redeemer, in who we faithfully abide, trust, believe, and abundantly do receive throughout His marvelous righteous Word and truth fulfilling Holy Spirit.
