Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.
“Psalms 27:11‘
David prays to the Lord for guidance in this verse. It is likely that David would have suffered destruction if he had relied solely on his own skill while his enemies were waiting to ambush him. However, he trusted the Lord to guide him along the correct path. It is important for Christians to follow David’s example and acknowledge God as our guide throughout life, as we live in a hostile world to God and His followers.
It is unfortunate that there are many people today who are waiting to trip or trap those who place their trust in the Lord. Truth is often twisted. Various cruel traps are erected in order to cause harm to others. However, those who attempt to ensnare will become entangled in their own evil schemes. Contrary to this, a person who fully grasps Christ will not stumble. Instead, he or she will be guided along a straight path, avoiding all traps and snares set by the devil.
The Lord blesses those who have teachable spirits and a humble heart, confessing their shortcomings to Him. His joy is in the one who seeks first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, with a gentle heart and a gentle nature.
Let us pray:
Dear Lord, almighty Heavenly Father, I would be lost on my path without You as my guide and saviour. Please allow your guidance to flow through me as water flows along a wells worn path. Let me place my trust in You oh Lord, seeking Your face every day, learning and praising Your divine ways. In the face of enemies, help me to remain as a flourishing tree planted by the river of life, guided by You oh Lord along a level path. For the rest of my life, I will give You all the honor, praise and glory forevermore. Thank you dear Lord, almighty Heavenly Father. I pray this throughout the mighty, glorious, fulfilling name, of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Much LoVe, JoY, Peace and Blessings in Jesus Christ, our almighty, wonderful, infinite loving, glorious dear Lord, Saviour and Redeemer.
