1 Samuel 17:4

And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span. “1 Samuel 17:4

When the Israelites first approached the Promised Land, they were afraid to enter because they were terrified by the giants living there. Goliath, who was over six cubits and a span tall (which totals about 9.75 feet or 3 meters), taunted Israel’s soldiers and appeared invincible to them. Although we may not face Goliath, we have our own giants to contend with.

Our giants can come in the form of a problem, bad news, a scary diagnosis, financial turmoil, marital strife, temptation, addiction, and anything else that gets in our way. Satan’s goal is to obstruct your ability to see Christ in you, with you, and through you. He sends a giant to block your path so you can’t see what’s ahead. It is the enemy’s hope that you lose focus and become distracted, disoriented, and discouraged. He doesn’t want you to see the glory on the other side.

Your blessing, however, is directly proportional to your giant! Goliath was big. Goliath was overbearing. Goliath was intimidating. Yet it was Goliath who made David famous. Your biggest obstacles are only there because you’re about to take a giant leap! Regardless of what you’re facing, remember that big problems mean big promises. By the power of the Spirit and in Jesus Christ mighty name, that giant, no matter how big, how loud, how intrusive, or how tall, is about to fall!

Let us pray:

Dear Lord, almighty Heavenly Father, You’re our powerful God. Help me live fearlessly for Your glory and honor as David did. I am facing so many challenges in my life right now. I pray that You will give me strength and wisdom as I fight these battles. Comfort me with Your righteous Words when I feel discouraged. Remind me not to fear, and to rest assured that You will fight my battles today. Thank you dear Lord, almighty Heavenly Father. I pray this throughout the mighty, glorious, fulfilling name, of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Much LoVe, JoY, Peace and Blessings in Jesus Christ, our almighty, wonderful, infinite loving, glorious dear Lord, Saviour and Redeemer.
