Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.
“Acts 2:24‘
There is a thrilling message in this verse that Peter delivered to the Israelites on the wonderful Day of Pentecost when the Church was born. The judgments of the human courts were overruled by God, who was the appellate judge. Throughout Jesus life, He was wrongfully accused, wrongfully convicted, and wrongfully executed. The fact that He was sinless made it impossible for Him to remain dead.
In order to atone for our sins, He willingly sacrificed His sinless life. However, as the eternal God, who does not die, He rose from the dead, ending the power of sin, satan, death, and hell. According to the Scriptures, those who believe Christ died for their sins, was buried, and rose again as per His work on the Cross will not perish but will have eternal life.
It is freely available to all, just as Peter stood up on that first day of Pentecost and spoke these life changing truths. Salvation is a free gift available to everyone who believes. Nevertheless, please do not forget what it costs for God to give His dearly beloved Son, to hang on the Cross as the sacrifice for sin. In addition, please do not forget what it costs the Lord Jesus to go to the Cross on your behalf.
Let us pray:
Dear Lord, almighty Heavenly Father, what a blessing that Your holy name is so relevant today as it was in Peter’s first sermon. You raised Jesus from the dead, ending the agony of sin for those who believe in His name as Peter spoke to the men of Israel. Thank You for sending Your beloved dear Son to become a perfect and sinless member of the human race. His sacrifice was to pay the ransom for my sin with His precious blood which I’m very grateful for every single day. I pray this throughout the mighty, glorious, fulfilling name, of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Much LoVe, JoY, Peace and Blessings in Jesus Christ, our almighty, wonderful, infinite loving, glorious dear Lord, Saviour and Redeemer.
