James 5:16

Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
James 5:16

This is a command that we often avoid because it can make us uncomfortable and we don’t know how to get started. Confessing faults and sins to each other can be challenging. No matter if it is to a pastor, to a family member, or to a friend, confessing our sins makes us feel vulnerable, ashamed, and it is never easy for us to open up our hearts to others.

God wouldn’t make us do something just for the sake of it. Everything He asks us to do is for something good!

As we confess our sins, we ask others to pray for us so that we can be healed. We must keep the two commands together and not treat them separately. Since we do not have the power to forgive sins, simply confessing our sins to each other won’t lead to healing. In 1 Timothy 2:5, it says, “For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind. He is the ultimate judge and it is only through our Lord, Jesus Christ, that our sins are forgiven. Even though we don’t have the power to heal or forgive sins, we can ask for God’s power in prayers. Because we have been declared righteous through faith in Jesus, our prayers are powerful and effective!

Don’t be afraid to confess your sins to others and ask for prayers. If you know someone who struggles with sin, pray for them as well. When we pray fervently, we can have the confidence that God hears us and He will do powerful things!

Let us pray:

Dear Lord, almighty Heavenly Father, thank You for Your grace and forgiveness. Give me the strength to not only confess my sins to You, but also confess them to others, and pray with them, so that I may be healed. I pray that You will lay Your hand on those who I care about most so that they will receive Your healing, Your forgiveness, Your wisdom, and Your infinite love. Lord, guide my prayers by the truth fulfilling of Your Spirit so that they can be effective. As I stand before You today, may my heart be aligned with Yours. Thank you dear Lord, almighty Heavenly Father. I pray this throughout the mighty, glorious, fulfilling name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Much LoVe, JoY, Peace and Blessings through Jesus Christ, our almighty, wonderful dear Lord, Saviour and Redeemer.

    1. Thank you very much for your kind, encourage, inspiring thoughts of writing a book of prayers dear sister Nancy. In fact you are not the only one that made this suggestion.
As a Christian, I believe that prayer is a vital part of a relationship with God. Writing a booklet of prayers certainly would be a beautiful way to express my faith with the many people and specially the ones who struggle. I certainly believe that prayers to our almighty dear Heavenly Father may bring comfort, guidance, and inspiration. This is something I will pray about, as it could well be another beautiful experience that our almighty dear Heavenly Father desires me to fulfill throughout His truth fulfilling Holy Spirit.
Thank you once more for your kind, inspiring thoughts dear sister Nancy. I very much appreciate that. 🙂
