Isaiah 59:1-2

“Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid His face from you, that He will not hear.
“(Isaiah 59:1-2)

Unfortunately, we do live in a sinful world filled with deception and disobedience. Many choose to ignore the truth and turn a blind eye and deaf ear to God’s Marvelous, righteous Word. This disobedience leads to consequences that we cannot escape.

The book of Jeremiah warns us:

“Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not: Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?” (Jeremiah 5:21).

When we choose to ignore the truth and live in disobedience, we are like the people Jeremiah speaks of blind and deaf to the true righteous Word and divine glorious, promised ways of the Lord.

The consequences of such disobedience are clear throughout the Bible. In Exodus, the Israelites wandered in the desert for 40 years because of their disobedience. In the book of Proverbs, we are warned;

“The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken in their own naughtiness.” (Proverbs 11:6).

Let us not be like those who have no eyes to see and ears to hear. Let us open our hearts and minds to the full truth of God’s marvelous, righteous Word and follow His divine commandments. Only then will we be saved from the consequences of disobedience and deception.

May we strive to be obedient and attentive to God’s teachings.

“But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.” (Luke 11:28).

Let us seek the truth and may we find salvation and peace throughout the mighty, glorious, victorious, fulfilling name of our dear Lord and Saviour; Jesus Christ. Amen!

Let us pray:

Dear Lord, almighty Heavenly Father, We come to you with a humble heart, knowing that through obedience comes great blessings. We pray that you would give us the strength and wisdom to follow Your commands and live in accordance to Your divine will. Help us to trust in your promised, glorious, fulfilling plan and submit to your sovereign, reigning authority. We ask for your guidance and grace so that we may be obedient in all areas of our lives, in our relationships, our work, and our daily decisions. May we be quick to listen and slow to speak, open to your correction and willing to follow your lead. May our obedience bring blessings not only to ourselves, but to those around us as well. Help us to be shining examples of your infinte love and grace, and may our lives reflect your goodness and mercy. We thank you dear Lord, almighty Heavenly Father for the promise that obedience brings blessings, and we pray that You would pour out your favor and provision on us and the many dear hearts and souls who strive to follow You faithfully. We pray this throughout the mighty, glorious, fulfilling name of Jesus Christ. Amen!

Much LoVe, JoY, Peace and Blessings to you, through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Saviour and Redeemer.

  1. Many people today live like the Ten Commandments are just suggestions. This is a beautiful thought included in your prayer: “May our obedience bring blessings not only to ourselves, but to those around us as well.” God bless you, Brother PieTer!

  2. Thank you for your kind, inspirational, encouraging thoughts, and blessed dear Words of God towards me. I received that very glad, grateful and blessed Sister Nancy.

    It’s true that in today’s world, the importance of following God’s commandments can sometimes be overlooked. However, as we choose to obey His marvelous, righteous Word and live according to His teachings, not only do we experience blessings in our own lives, but we also become vessels of blessings to those around us. In Deuteronomy 28:2, it says, “All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God.” Let’s continue to strive for obedience and trust that God’s ways lead to abundant blessings for all. God bless you to Sister Nancy
