Ephesians 4:29-32

Let no corrupt talk come out of your mouth, but what is good and useful for edification, that it may minister grace to those who hear it. And do not grieve the holy Spirit of God, by whom you are sealed until the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and rage and anger and uproar and evil speaking be put away from you, together with all malice, and be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, just as God, for Christ’s sake, forgave you.
“Ephesians 4:29-32”

In the inspiring and encouraging Bible verses of “Ephesians 4:29-32” the apostle Paul gives us some practical instructions for living a life that honors God and builds up others. He warns against unwholesome talk and encourages us to use our words to build others up and benefit those who listen. He also urges us to get rid of negative emotions and instead be kind, compassionate, and forgiving.

As Christians, we are called to live in a way that reflects the love and grace of our dear Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. This means being mindful of our words and actions, and seeking to bring encouragement and positivity to those around us. It also means being quick to forgive and showing compassion to others, just as Jesus Christ has done for us.

Let’s take some time to reflect on how we are using our words and treating others. Are we speaking in a way that builds others up and benefits them? Are we holding onto bitterness, anger, or malice, or are we quick to forgive and show kindness? Let’s ask our almighty dear Heavenly Father to help us live out these verses in our daily lives and be a reflection of His infinite love to those around us.

Let us Pray:

Dear Lord, almighty Heavenly Father, Thank you for the wisdom and guidance found in your marvelous, righteous Word. We confess that at times we have not used our words in a way that builds others up, and we have held onto negative emotions instead of showing kindness and forgiveness. Please forgive us and help us to live in a way that honors You. Help us to be mindful of our words and to use them to bring encouragement and benefit to those around us. Give us the strength to let go of bitterness, anger, and malice, and to instead show kindness and compassion to others. Help us to be quick to forgive, just as You have forgiven us. Thank you for your grace and infinite love, and for the example of Jesus Christ to follow. May we live in a way that reflects Your infinite love and this brings glory to your name. Thank you dear Lord, almighty Heavenly Father. We pray this throughout the mighty, glorious, fulfilling name of Jesus Christ. Amen!

Much LoVe, JoY, Peace and Blessings to You, through JESUS Christ, our LORD, SAVIOUR and REDEEMER.

  1. The message in Ephesians 4:29-32 is something many of us strive to do but tend to violate when we’re irritated in some way. If we hear a shopper being offensive to a cashier, for instance, a kind word from the next in line would be a gracious act. Thanks, PieTeR, for your reflections on Ephesians 4:29-32. 🙂
