The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever. “Psalms 111:10′
This verse speaks of the fear of the Lord, which is the beginning of wisdom. The Psalmist acknowledges God’s mightiness and faithfulness, declaring that all who follow His commands have good understanding. The verse encourages us to have a proper reverence and awe for God, recognizing His sovereignty and holiness. It reminds us that wisdom and true knowledge begin with acknowledging and honoring God as the creator and sovereign reigning sustainer of all things.
We should deeply consider the advice given in these words of wisdom and humbly submit ourselves, bowing in reverence and awe of our gracious almighty dear Heavenly Father. Our hearts and voices should be lifted in praise and worship as we declare the wonders of His glorious fulfilling name, the magnificence of His majesty, and the abundance of His grace towards us, who are called His children.
It is a reverential affection for God that leads to a deeper knowledge of His character and attributes, which in turn leads to praise, worship, and thanksgiving. When we fear the Lord, we willingly obey His will and submit ourselves to His ways. To know God is to have eternal life, and a holy reverence for Him is the beginning of that knowledge. May we continually seek to grow in obedience and love for the Lord.
Let us pray:
Dear Lord almighty Heavenly Father, I come before You in awe and reverence, acknowledging Your greatness and majesty. May the fear of You be continually before me, leading me to seek after Your wisdom and understanding. Help me to grow in my knowledge of You and to display a reverential affection for You in my daily life. May my heart overflow with gratitude and praise for Your wonderful works and the richness of Your grace. Give me the willingness to obey Your will and follow Your ways. Thank you dear Lord, almighty Heavenly Father. I pray this through the mighty glorious name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Much LoVe, JoY, Peace and Blessings through Jesus Christ, our wonderful, infinite loving, almighty, glorious dear Lord, Saviour and Redeemer, in who we faithfully abide, trust, believe, and abundantly do receive throughout His marverlous righteous Word and truth fulfilling Holy Spirit.
