2 Corinthians 4:9

Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; “2 Corinthians 4:9

Many Christians of the early church suffered persecution, and much of Paul’s teaching addressed the abuse and torture they endured. Persecution is still prevalent in our society today. While the methods of torture may differ, the enemies to our Lord Jesus Christ continue to undermine our faith.

As a result of our faith, we may be personally attacked. We may feel discouraged by what is happening in the world. Life may knock us down in every possible way. In this verse, the Apostle Paul reminds us that, regardless of what is thrown at us and what we might have to suffer for the sake of Christ, the Lord never leaves us and we can always find strength in Him.

Life’s journeys and troubles are not an end, but an encounter with God’s extravagant love. It is that love that makes pain bearable and suffering joyful. The Lord, in His loving refuge, gives us the peace that enables us to understand the purposes of life so that we can walk in stillness and joy in spite of pain and noise.

God never promised us that following Jesus would be easy. In fact, the Scriptures are very upfront about the difficulties we may experience. He did promise, however, that we would never be alone. Regardless of how hard the struggle may seem at times, remember that God will never abandon you nor will He let you fall. He is always with you.

Let us pray:

Dear Lord, almighty Heavenly Father, You are the source of my strength and my loving refuge. Thank You for always being with me and giving me a purpose to glorify You. Every hardship you put me through is an opportunity for me to become stronger. Nothing can separate me from You. Give me strength to carry out Your will today and to live in Your perfect peace. Thank you dear Lord, almighty dear Heavenly Father. I pray this throughout the mighty, glorious, fulfilling name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Much LoVe, JoY, Peace and Blessings through Jesus Christ, our almighty, wonderful dear Lord, Saviour and Redeemer.

  1. So true!! The devil is always coming after us in big and small ways. But we are not without weapons. Best of all the war has already been won. Sometimes the best defense is to find the scripture that promises victory in our situation, confess it, and stand firm on it in faith. Unshakable faith in the Word is the most effective weapon we have. Thank you, Jesus, for making this so simple for us. What a good God we have!!

    1. Yes that’s absolutely truly beloved sister in Christ.

Thank you for you’re insightful, inspiring thoughts beloved sister in Christ. May God bless you and keep you protected under His almighty wings.

As Christian, it is important to understand that our ultimate defense against evil principalities comes from God. Ephesians 6:10-18 speaks about the armor of God, which includes various spiritual weapons for our protection. These weapons include:

      1. The belt of truth: Embrace and live by God’s truth found in His Word.

      2. The breastplate of righteousness: Seek to live a righteous and morally upright life through faith in Christ.

      3. Feet fitted with the readiness of the gospel of peace: Be prepared to share the good news of Jesus and bring peace wherever you go.

      4. The shield of faith: Trust in God’s promises and rely on Him completely.

      5. The helmet of salvation: Guard your mind with the assurance of your salvation through Jesus Christ.

      6. The sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God: Use Scripture as a powerful tool to combat lies and deception. Prayer is also a vital weapon against evil principalities. Seek God’s guidance, protection, and strength through prayer, knowing that He hears and answers our prayers according to His will. Remember, these are spiritual concepts that require personal application and reliance on God’s power. It is important to seek wisdom from trusted Christian leaders who can provide further guidance in this area if needed.

The Word of God is indeed powerful, and their so much we can learn. It has the ability to transform our lives and help us grow in our faith. As we spend time reading and meditating on the Scriptures, we allow the Holy Spirit to speak to us and teach us valuable lessons. Just as physical food nourishes our bodies, the Word of God nourishes our souls and helps us mature spiritually. It provides guidance, wisdom, comfort, and correction. So let us continue to cherish and immerse ourselves in the Word of God, allowing it to shape us into the image of Christ.
