James 2:1

My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons. “James 2:1′

James begins this verse by instructing Christians to act without partiality or favoritism. In his teachings, he emphasized that the poor should rejoice in their future rewards, while the rich should not rely on their possessions for their happiness. This led into a discussion of how Christians should obey the Word of God rather than simply hear it. When you trust God to provide all of your needs for you, why do you show favoritism toward anyone?

As Christians, we are not simply to believe in a statement of faith with our intellectual mind, but to live our personal, trusting faith in Christ in everything we do on a daily basis. Living a life that reflects the life of Jesus Christ is what we are called to do. Throughout His sojourn here on earth, He maintained an unbroken relationship with His heavenly Father, in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Like Christ, we, too, are called to walk in spirit and truth, and to live our lives in total submission to the indwelling Holy Spirit. We, too, should become servants to all without fear or favor, without prejudice or discrimination, as our heavenly Lord did.

Let us pray:

Dear Lord, almighty Heavenly Father, thank You for receiving faith in Jesus Christ through Your marvelous righteous Word and Your truth fulfilling Holy Spirit that You apply in my life. Help me to behave in such a way that no one would ever believe that I am favoring the rich over the poor, alongside to help me to avoid thinking evil thoughts that might lead me to judge others by their outward appearances. Through the power of Your truth fulfilling Holy Spirit, I pray that Jesus may be seen in me, and give you all the honor, praise and glory forevermore.
Thank you dear Lord almighty Heavenly Father. I pray this throughout the mighty, glorious, fulfilling name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Much LoVe, JoY, Peace and Blessings through Jesus Christ, our almighty, wonderful dear Lord, Saviour and Redeemer.
