Isaiah 30:15

For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not. “Isaiah 30:15

In today’s society, everyone strives to work more, do more, make more money, and post more pictures on social media. Taking time off is seen as unproductive or lazy. While it can be difficult for us to set aside time in our busy days to rest and be quiet before God, it is important for us to reflect on what the Lord tells us in this verse: In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength.

Silence and rest are essential parts of our walks with God. It is easy to lose sight of what God wants us to do when we become so busy pursuing our worldly desires. While the circumstances surrounding the Israelites differ from our own today, God hasn’t changed. In repentance and rest, He promises us salvation, and in quietness and trust in Him, He will give us strength. In Genesis, God created for six days and rested on the seventh day. His emphasis on rest has been clear since the beginning.

So today, give God the honor to abide in Him. By spending time out of your busy day to be in a quiet place and rest in God. Repent, stay calm, knowing with a trustworthy, peacefully understanding, that the more we abide in God, the more peace and strength we will receive.

Let us pray:

Dear Lord, almighty Heavenly Father, take me into the presence of Your infinite love and joy, give me peace while I meditate on your marvelous righteous Word, and by giving thanks in imparting prayers and reflecting on the importance that you desire for me so abundantly to receive. Help me to stay focus on Your faithfulness and Your infinite love rather than my fears and worries. Give me strength, dear Lord, and quiet my fears. You alone are my Comforter, Defender and Saviour. No matter what I face today, help me to trust You always and seek Your divine will first. Fill my heart with Your love, joy and peace and help me to walk mightily in Your faithfulness. Thank you dear Lord, almighty Heavenly Father. I pray this throughout the mighty, glorious, fulfilling name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Much LoVe, JoY, Peace and Blessings through Jesus Christ, our almighty, wonderful dear Lord, Saviour and Redeemer.
