Jeremiah 16:19-21

O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit. Shall a man make gods unto himself, and they are no gods? Therefore, behold, I will this once cause them to know, I will cause them to know mine hand and my might; and they shall know that my name is The LORD. “Jeremiah 16:19-21”

In these mighty, inspiring and encouraging three verses, we see the prophet Jeremiah expressing the awe and reverence that all nations will have for the Lord. He sees a time when the nations will come to the Lord, acknowledging that their ancestors had inherited lies, worthless idols, and things of no benefit. Jeremiah declares that the nations will come to the Lord and confess, “Surely our ancestors have inherited nothing but lies, worthless idols of no use.” They will come to the Lord from the ends of the earth and say, “Surely our ancestors possessed nothing but false gods, worthless idols that did them no good.”

This passage speaks to the universal recognition and acknowledgement of the one true God. It emphasizes the futility of worshipping false gods and the emptiness of relying on idols. This passage also points to the inclusive nature of God’s salvation, as people from all nations will come to Him and recognize His sovereignty.

Let us Pray:

Dear Lord, almighy Heavenly Father, we come before You with gratitude and humility, acknowledging Your sovereignty and lordship over all nations. We recognize that there is no other God but You, and we confess that we have often turned to false idols and worthless things in place of You. Forgive us for our transgressions and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
We lift up the nations of the world to You, dear Lord, Almighty Heavenly Father. We pray for a universal recognition of Your truth and a turning away from lies and false gods. May the people from the ends of the earth come to You, acknowledging that their ancestors have inherited nothing but lies and worthless idols. We pray for a global awakening to Your reality and a revival of spiritual hunger for the truth. Help us,dear Lord, almighty Heavenly Father to be ambassadors of Your truth and love to the nations. May we demonstrate Your righteousness and grace in all that we do, so that others may be drawn to You. Use us as instruments of Your peace and reconciliation, that all peoples may come to know You as the one and only true sovereign, reigning God.
We thank You, dear Lord, almighty Heavenly Father, for Your inclusive glorious fulfilling salvation and the promise that people from all nations will come to worship You. Strengthen our faith and help us to walk in Your glorious divine ways, that we may be a beacon of light to the nations and a testament to Your power and infinite love. Thank you dear Lord, almighty Heavenly Father. We pray this throughout the mighty, glorious, fulfilling name, of JESUS CHRIST. Amen!

Much LoVe, JoY, Peace and Blessings to You, through JESUS CHRIST, our LORD, SAVIOUR and REDEEMER.

  1. Currently, many worship the things of the world and berate the Laws that God gave to Moses for us. Thank you for urging those who have strayed to reject the lies and false gods. God bless you, Brother PieTeR!

    1. Amen Sister Nancy,! It’s so important to stay grounded in God’s Word and not be swayed by the things of this world. Remember what it says in1 John2:15-17, “Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.” It’s wonderful to see your dedication to following God’s laws and encouraging others to do so as well.

Thank you for your truthful, insightful thoughts on Jeremiah 16:19:21 and the blessed dear Words of our almighty dear Heavenly Father, Sister Nancy.

May God continue to bless you abundantly as you walk in His ways!🙏🏼
