Joshua 1:9

Welcome to a new Bible Study of Joshua 1:9:

Let’s reason and take an inspiring verse look at “Joshua 1:9“, followed with a Summary and Prayer.

“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy GOD is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” (Joshua 1:9)

1. “Have not I commanded thee?”

This rhetorical question emphasizes divine authority and the seriousness of GOD’S commands. It reminds us that GOD’S directions come with purpose and necessity. GOD has a plan for each of us, and He encourages us to align with it.

When facing challenges, remember that GOD doesn’t just suggest; He commands. His commands come with the weight of His divine will, urging us toward obedience and trust.

2. “Be strong and of a good courage;”

Strength and courage are not merely physical traits but also spiritual and emotional qualities. This call to be strong invites believers to stand firm in their faith, to draw courage from GOD’S presence and promises.

Embrace the strength that comes from knowing the Almighty GOD. Courage is not the absence of fear but the determination to act in faith despite it. You are empowered by GOD to face every situation.

3. “be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed:”

Fear often paralyzes us and prevents us from moving forward. This command challenges us to reject fear and discouragement and highlights the importance of perspective in trials. To be “dismayed” means to lose confidence or hope, which GOD instructs us to avoid.

Whatever uncertainties await you, lean on GOD rather than on your fears. Replace worry with trusting GOD equipped you with resilience and strength to overcome any obstacles in your path.

4. “for the LORD thy GOD is with thee”

The reassurance of GOD’S mighty presence is a core theme throughout Scripture. GOD walks with us through every storm, valley, and challenge. His companionship provides comfort and guidance.

When you feel alone, remember that GOD stands beside you. His mighty fulfilling presence assures you that you’re never facing life’s battles alone; He is an ever-present help.

5. “whithersoever thou goest.”

This phrase highlights the omnipresence of GOD. No matter where we find ourselves in life, His guidance and support follow us. Every step taken in faith is a testament to His faithful promises.

As you move forward in your journey, trust that GOD is leading you. Every decision made in alignment with His divine will is a step toward fulfilling your purpose at home, school, work, and in the community.
