How we stay focused on GOD

Let’s reason and take an inspiring verse to vers look at the following Bible verses below, followed with a summary, and heart felt, uplifting prayer before GOD’S Holy throne-room.

Verse 1: “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto JESUS the author and finisher of our faith.” (Hebrews 12:1-2)

This inspiring passage encourages us to recognize the support of those who have gone before us in faith. To stay focused on GOD, we must lay aside distractions, such as worries and temptations that hinder our spiritual progress. Running with patience suggests an commitment to persevere despite obstacles.

Verse 2: “Submit yourselves therefore to GOD. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to GOD, and he will draw nigh to you.” (James 4:7-8)

Focusing on GOD requires for us to submit to GOD’S divine will. By resisting worldly temptations, we create space for deeper intimacy with GOD.

Drawing nigh means that we are in need to actively seek GOD, reinforcing our dedication and ensuring that earthly distractions are minimized.

Verse 3: “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” (Philippians 4:8)

This verse of (Philippines 4:8) emphasizes with clarity of the importance of our thoughts. To maintain focus on GOD, we should fill our minds with positive, virtuous thoughts. By consciously choosing to meditate on what is good and pure, we weaken the allure of worldly distractions.

Verse 4: “Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.” (Colossians 3:2)

This verse challenges us to reorient our desires toward heavenly, eternal things rather than temporal, earthly pleasures. By setting our affections above promotes a true mindset that is centered on GOD and His kingdom, helping us to remain undistracted by the worldly chaos.

Verse 5: “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” (1 John 2:15-17)

Loving the world can detract us from our intimate relationship with GOD. This passage clearly warns us against divided loyalties. By prioritizing our relationship with GOD over material possessions and worldly influences, we strengthen our focus on GOD.

Let’s Summarize this Bible study together:

Staying focused on GOD amidst worldly distractions requires intentionality. We are called to lay aside distractions and submit our prayers to GOD, and fill our minds with uplifting thoughts. By setting our affections on heavenly matters and avoiding the love for the world we cultivate an environment conducive to spiritual growth and connection with GOD.

Let us lift our heartfelt prayers before GOD’S Holy throne-room:

Dear LORD almighty HEAVENLY FATHER, Thank You for Your marvelous righteous Word that guides us. Help us to lay aside distractions and to submit our prayers fully to You. Dear LORD, almighty HEAVENLY FATHER we ask you to assist us in drawing near to You daily, by seeking a deeper relationship with Your Holy Spirit. Fill our minds with thoughts of virtue and goodness, and keep our hearts focused on You above all. May our affections align with Yours so we may grow and run our race with patience. Thank you dear LORD almighty HEAVENLY FATHER, we pray this throughout the mighty, glorious, fulfilling name, of JESUS CHRIST. AMEN!

Much LoVe, JoY, Peace and Blessings to You, through JESUS CHRIST, our almighty, fulfilling dear LORD, SAVIOUR and REDEEMER!
