The True Foundation of GOD’S Love, JoY and Peace

Welcome to a new Bible Study, on”The True Foundation of GOD’S Love, JoY and Peace

Let’s reason and take an inspiring verse by vers look, on the Bibical study, scripture references below, followed with a summary, and uplifting Prayer before GOD’S Holy throne-room!

1: “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of GOD; and every one that loveth is born of GOD, and knoweth GOD.”(1 John 4:7)

Love is not merely an emotion or a choice it is the very essence of GOD Himself. When we love one another we are participating in the divine nature. To love authentically is to be born of GOD and to know Him intimately. This foundational truth reminds us that every act of love, no matter how small, reflects the character of our Creator and deepens our relationship with Him and us and in each other’s lives.

2: “He that loveth not knoweth not GOD; for GOD is love.”(1 John 4:8)

This verse of 1 John 4:8 presents a profound reality: the absence of love reveals an absence of GOD’S presence in our hearts. Conversely, when love flows through us toward others, we demonstrate that we truly know GOD. Love is not optional for the believer it is the evidence of our faith and our connection we have through our almight dear HEAVENLY FATHER

3: “Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth with the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.”
(1 Corinthians 13:4-7)

This passage paints a beautiful portrait of love in action. True love (charity) is patient and kind it does not envy or boast. It is humble, never seeking its own advantage at the expense of others. Love does not demand proper behavior in return; it bears all things and endures all challenges. It celebrates truth rather than wrongdoing. When we examine our relationships through this lens, we see that genuine love is not a fleeting feeling but a true commitment to the wellbeing of another person.

4: “Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.”
(1 Corinthians 13:8)

While all other spiritual gifts and earthly accomplishments will fade away, love remains eternal. In our relationships with one another, this truth offers profound comfort: the profound love we share today has eternal significance. It will outlast every temporary circumstance, every earthly achievement, and every fleeting moment of glory.

The Commandment of Love:

5: A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” (John 13:34-35)

JESUS elevates His love to the status of commandment, not as a suggestion or aspiration, but as a direct order to His followers. The measure of our love is not our own capacity but His unending, sacrificial love for us. Our love for one another becomes the world’s primary witness to the reality of CHRIST’S redemption. When others observe genuine love among believers, they see proof of our discipleship and evidence of GOD’S transforming power.

6: “This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.” (John 15:12)

JESUS repeats this essential command, emphasizing its centrality to our Christian life. The standard is not mere civility or tolerance it is the selfless sacrificing and unconditional love that CHRIST demonstrated on the cross. This is both humbling and empowering: we are called to love as JESUS loves, yet we are sustained by His Spirit to accomplish it.

7: “Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.”
(Romans 13:8)

Love is the only debt we should carry forward a debt that can never be fully paid because love should continually grow and deepen us. When we love one another, we fulfill the entire moral law of GOD. All the commandments do not steal, do not commit adultery, do not bear false witness are summed up in the single command to love. This simplifies the Christian life while deepening its challenge: if we truly love, we will naturally refrain from harming others.

Joy in Relationships:

8: “These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.”(John 15:11)

JESUS desires that His joy a deep, abiding satisfaction rooted in intimacy with GOD, would overflow in our lives and relationships. This joy is not dependent on external circumstances but flows from our connection to Him. When we experience this joy, it naturally radiates into our relationships with others, creating an atmosphere of hope and encouragement.

9: “If there be therefore any consolation in CHRIST, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies; Fulfil ye My joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.”
(Philippians 2:1-2)

Paul appeals to the believers, and the experience of CHRIST’S comfort and spiritual fellowship, urging them to bring joy to his heart by living in unity and love. This reveals such a beautiful truth: our joy is interconnected with others joy. When we pursue harmony and shared purpose with our brothers and sisters in CHRIST, we create an environment where joy flourishes and multiplies.

10: “Rejoice in the LORD alway: and again I say, Rejoice.”(Philippians 4:4)

The command to rejoice is repeated for emphasis, underscoring its importance. This joy is not contingent on favorable circumstances but is rooted in our intimate relationship with the LORD almighty. In our relationships with one another we are called to be bearers of this joy, reminding others of reasons to rejoice even in difficult seasons.

11: “Rejoice evermore.”
(1 Thessalonians 5:16)

This brief command carries enormous weight. “Evermore” means continually, without cessation. In our daily interactions with family, friends, and community, we are called to maintain an underlying joy a confidence in GOD’S goodness that sustains us, and uplifts those around us.

12: “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.”(Proverbs 17:22)

Joy in relationships is not frivolous or superficial it is therapeutic and healing. A joyful spirit brings health and restoration to those around us, while despair and bitterness drain life away. When we cultivate joy in our relationships, we are actively contributing to the spiritual and emotional health of our community.

Peace in Relationships:

13: “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:27)

JESUS offers a peace that is fundamentally different from what the world provides. Worldly peace is often shallow, dependent on favorable conditions, and easily disrupted. But CHRIST’S peace is deep, rooted in trust in Him, and unshakeable even amid chaos. When we carry this peace into our heart and in our relationships, we become instruments of calm and stability for others.

14: “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto GOD. And the peace of GOD, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and your minds through CHRIST JESUS.“(Philippians 4:6-7)

Rather than anxiety, we are invited to uplift our concerns in prayer before GOD’S Holy throne-room. As we do so with grateful hearts, GOD’S peace will guard our hearts and minds. In our relationships, this peace enables us to respond with wisdom rather than react with fear or anger.

15: “If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.”
(Romans 12:18)

Paul acknowledges that peace is not always within our control as others may refuse reconciliation or choose conflict. However, we are responsible for our part: we must pursue peace earnestly and genuinely. This means letting go of grudges, seeking understanding, and choosing forgiveness whenever possible.

16: “Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify one another.”(Romans 14:19)

We are called to actively pursue peace, not passively wait for it. This means choosing words that build up rather than tear down, actions that heal rather than harm, and attitudes that unite rather than divide. Peace making is an active, practice process that we need to embrace throughout GOD’S  characteristic unending love.

17: “With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”(Ephesians 4:2-3)

The foundation for peace in relationships is humility, gentleness, patience, and forbearance. We should bear with one another’s weaknesses and shortcomings, not with grudging tolerance but with genuine love. Unity does not mean uniformit, it means being bound together by the Holy Spirit’s peace despite our differences.

18: “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. And grieve not the holy Ghost of GOD, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as GOD for CHRIST’S sake hath forgiven you.”(Ephesians 4:29-32)

Our words have power, they either build peace or destroy it. We are called to speak only that which edifies and ministers grace. Bitterness, anger, and malice, will grieve the Holy Spirit and undermine the peace that CHRIST offers. Instead we are led to be kind, tenderhearted, and forgiving, mirroring the forgiveness we have received through CHRIST.

The desire of Love, Joy, and Peace:

19: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” (Galatians 5:22-23)

Love, joy, and peace are not separate virtues they are interconnected fruits of the Holy Spirit’s work in our lives. When the Holy Spirit dwells within us, these qualities naturally emerge and shape how we relate to one another. There is no law against such character; rather, these virtues fulfill and exceed all righteous requirements.

20: “Put on therefore, as the elect of GOD, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as CHRIST forgave you, so also do ye. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. And let the peace of CHRIST rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.(Colossians 3:12-15)

We are chosen by GOD and called to clothe ourselves with mercy, kindness, humility, and patience. We are to forgive as CHRIST forgave us completely and unconditionally. Love is the binding force that holds all other virtues together. And the peace of CHRIST should be the ruling principle in our hearts by governing all our decisions and interactions.

21: “Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently.”
(1 Peter 1:22)

Our love for one another should be genuine and passionate, not performative or superficial. It flows from hearts that have been purified through obedience to GOD’S fullfilling truth. This fervency, this wholehearted commitment, distinguishes authentic Christian love, from mere social courtesy.

22: “My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.“(1 John 3:18)

Our love must be expressed through action, not merely through pleasant words. Genuine love requires sacrifice, service, and tangible commitment. In our relationships, this means showing up, helping practically, and demonstrating our care through our choices and efforts.

The Witness of Love, Joy, and Peace:

23: “Beloved, if GOD so loved us, we ought also to love one another. No man hath seen GOD at any time. If we love one another, GOD dwelleth in us, and His love is perfected in us.”(1 John 4:11-12)

When we love one another, we make our almighty dear GOD visible to the world. We become living testimonies to His character and nature. Our relationships become windows through which others can glimpse the divine love that sustains the world.

24: “Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; That they all may be one; as thou, FATHER, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.”(John 17:20-23)

JESUS prayed that His followers would be unified not in superficial agreement, but in the same true love and oneness that binds the Father and Son. This unity is the world’s primary evidence that JESUS is the MESSIAH. When our relationships are characterized by genuine love, joy, and peace, we fulfill CHRIST’S prayer and become powerful witnesses to His redemptive, fulfilling work.

Let’s Summarize this Bible Study  together:

Love, joy, and peace are not only pleasant emotions or social grace, they are the core expressions of a life transformed by GOD’S Holy Spirit. Love is the foundation, rooted in GOD’S very nature, and demonstrated supremely in CHRIST’S sacrifice for humanity. His love is patient, kind, humble, and self giving. Joy flows from our intimate relationship with the LORD and multiplies when shared in community. Peace is CHRIST’S graces, blessed gift to us, an heart touched deep, unshakeable confidence in GOD’S goodness that enables us to respond wisely and compassionately to others.

These three virtues are inseparable and interconnected. Love without joy becomes burdensome; joy without love becomes shallow; peace without love and joy becomes mere absence of conflict. Together, they transform our relationships from transactional interactions into expressions of GOD’S glorious kingdom on earth. When we prioritize love, cultivate joy, and pursue peace in our relationships with one another, we become living witnesses to CHRIST’S redemptive power. The world observes our unity and believes. Our families experience healing and restoration. Our communities are transformed by grace. This is the calling and the privilege of every believer in CHRIST: to love as we have been loved, to rejoice in our shared journey, and to be peacemakers in a fractured world, Amen!

Let’s humble ourselves and lift our prayers before GOD’S Holy throne-room:

May our love for one another be a living testimony to Your transforming power. Fill us with Your unending love, joy and peace. In a world that often feels heavy with sorrow and uncertainty, infuse our hearts and spirits with the deep and abiding joy that comes from knowing You. Help us to rejoice not only in good circumstances but to maintain an underlying confidence in Your goodness and faithfulness. Let our love and joy be contagious, lifting the spirits of those around us and reminding them that their hope is not lost. Grant us Your peacr In moments of conflict, misunderstanding, or tension with others, calm our anxious hearts and guide us toward reconciliation and understanding. Help us to be peacemakers, not by avoiding difficult conversations, but by approaching them with humility, compassion, and a genuine desire for unity. Strengthen our relationships. Whether with family, friends, colleagues, or brothers and sisters in CHRIST, help us to invest in these connections with intentions of our love and care. Heal any broken relationships that weigh on our hearts. Give us wisdom to know when to speak and when to listen, when to forgive and when to set healthy boundaries. As we live out Your love, joy, and peace in our relationships, use us to draw others to You. Let our lives be a compelling witness to the reality of Your grace. May those who observe our unity, our kindness, and our genuine care for one another be moved t believe in You, and to surrender their lives to Your transforming fulfilling love. Thank You dear LORD, almighty HEAVENLY FATHER’, we pray this with faith and great expectations, throughout the mighty, glorious, victorious, fullfilling name, of Your beloved dear Son, our SAVIOUR and REDEEMER, JESUS CHRIST, AMEN!
