Elijah and the Last Days

Hi, and Welcome to a new Bible Study on “Elijah and the Last Days: A Bible Study for Renewal, Maturity, and Kingdom Preparation

Let’s reason and take an inspiring verse by verse look, at the Bible study references below, followed with a summary, and uplifting prayer request, before GOD’s Holy throne-room:

Part 1) Elijah. – The Spirit of Preparation:

And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD GOD of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.” 1 Kings 17:1

Elijah stood boldly before a corrupt king in a corrupt age, much like the last days we live in now. His authority didn’t come from position or popularity. It came from standing before the LORD. That’s our model: not standing before culture, before pressure, before fear, but standing before GOD first, and speaking from that place.

“And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake: And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice. 1 Kings 19:11-12

In the noise of these last days, chaos, distraction, fear, GOD is not usually found in the loudest thing. He’s found in the still, small voice. Our preparation begins with quieting our minds enough to hear Him again through His HOLY SPIRIT.

Part 2) Elijah and the Last Days:

“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.” Malachi 4:5-6

This is the assignment: before the LORD’s return, hearts must be turned, restored, reconciled, realigned toward GOD and toward one another. This is not just history in John the Baptist. It’s a spirit and pattern still active today, working through anyone willing to prepare the way.

“And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the LORD.” Luke 1:17

This is our desirable assignment, to be made ready, and to help make others ready. Not passive waiting, but active preparation of our hearts and our households for the LORD’s return.

Part 3) Renewing the Mind:

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of GOD.” Romans 12:2

Preparation isn’t outward performance, it’s an inward transformation. Our thinking must be renewed daily, stripped of the world’s patterns, rebuilt on GOD’s truth by the power of the HOLY SPIRIT.

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through GOD to the pulling down of strong holds… bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of CHRIST.” 2 Corinthians 10:4-5

This is the stronghold we’re called into, not a fortress of fear, but a fortress of truth in CHRIST, where every thought is captured and aligned with Him.

Part 4) Growing to Maturity:

“Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of GOD, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of CHRIST: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even CHRIST” Ephesians 4:13-15

Maturity isn’t a destination we arrive at once, it’s a continual growing up into CHRIST, together, in love and truth.

Part 5) Becoming Blameless:

“And the very GOD of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray GOD your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our LORD JESUS CHRIST.” 1 Thessalonians 5:23

“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of JESUS CHRIST.” Philippians 1:6

Blamelessness isn’t self-achieved perfection, it’s GOD’s sanctifying work in us, and He promises to finish what He started.

Part 6) A Glorious Future:

“And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of GOD is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their GOD.  And GOD shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
Revelation 21:3-4

“Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.” 2 Peter 3:13

This is what we’re walking toward, not just an ending, but a beginning. A new Kingdom, filled with righteousness, free of pain, where GOD dwells with us face to face.

Let’s summarize this Bible study together:

Elijah represents the spirit of preparation before the LORD’s return, turning the hearts back to GOD and to one another. In these last days, we’re called to that same assignment: renewing our minds, tearing down strongholds of worldly thinking, growing into full maturity in CHRIST, and being made blameless, not by our own strength, but by GOD’s sanctifying work through the HOLY SPIRIT. All of this points us toward a glorious future: a new heaven, a new earth, and unbroken fellowship with GOD Himself.

Let’s humble ourselves, and lift-up our requested prayer before GOD’s Holy Throne-Room:

Dear LORD, almighty HEAVENLY FATHER’, we thank You for calling us into this hour with purpose and assignment. Give us the spirit of Elijah, bold before You, quiet enough to hear Your still small voice, willing to turn our hearts back to You and to each other. Renew our minds daily; strip away every pattern of this world that doesn’t align with Your truth. Tear down every stronghold of fear, doubt, and distraction, and bring every thought captive to the obedience of CHRIST. Grow us up into full maturity, in unity and love, until we reflect the fullness of who You are. Sanctify us wholly, spirit, soul, and body, and complete the good work You started in us. Fill us afresh with Your HOLY SPIRIT, and prepare us, together, as a people ready for Your return. And as we walk toward Your glorious Kingdom that You have promised, where sorrow ends and righteousness dwells, let us walk it blameless, faithful, and fully Yours. Thank You dear LORD Almighty HEAVENLY FATHER’. Hear our prayers throughout the mighty, glorious, fulfilling name, of JESUS’ CHRIST, AMEN!

The grace of the LORD JESUS CHRIST, and the love of GOD, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.“ 2 Corinthians 13:14

Much LoVe, JoY, Peace and Blessings to You, through JESUS CHRIST, our Almighty, Fulfilling dear LORD, SAVIOUR and REDEEMER!
