Beloved in CHRIST, there is a difference between merely existing in this world and truly walking with GOD through it. The Christian life was never intended to be a static condition, a one/time decision that leaves us unchanged, but rather a dynamic, beautiful, unfolding journey of transformation. The prophet Amos asked, “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?”

And in this simple question lies the profound mystery of our faith: that our beautiful dear Creator of Heaven and Earth, the Eternal One who spoke galaxies into existence, desires to walk alongside us, step by step, through every valley and mountaintop of our earthly pilgrimage.

“Can two walk together, except they be agreed?”
(AMOS 3:3)

To walk with GOD is to enter into a narrative far larger than our own small stories. It is to discover that His ways are not our ways, neither are His thoughts our thoughts.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
(ISAIAH 55:8-9)

And yet to find that His ways, mysterious though they may sometimes seem, lead unfailingly to green pastures and still waters. This is the journey we explore today: the incomparable beauty of walking through GOD’S love, the victorious nature of His fulfilling ways, and the glorious freedom that transforms every chapter He opens before us.

I. The Foundation: Walking in the Ocean of GOD’S Love

“That CHRIST may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of CHRIST, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of GOD.”
(EPHESIANS 3:17-19)

The journey begins here, and it must begin here: not with our striving, not with our performance, but with the incomprehensible, unshakable, unconditional love of GOD. We do not walk toward His love as though it were a distant destination to be earned; we walk in His love as fish swim in the ocean, surrounded, sustained, and utterly dependent upon it.

Consider the shepherd’s heart revealed in ‘Psalm 23“. David does not say, “I run ahead of the LORD,” or “I blaze my own trail,” but rather, “He leadeth me.” There is a gentleness in this leading, a tenderness that accommodates our frailty. The Hebrew word for “lead” here implies a drawing forward, as with cords of lovingkindness. This is not the harsh driving of a taskmaster, but the patient guidance of a Bridegroom who delights in His bride.

“The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.”
(JEREMIAH 31:3)

When we truly comprehend, even in small measure, that we are loved with an everlasting love, that we are the objects of divine affection, something fundamental shifts within us.

“The LORD thy GOD in the midst of thee is mighty; He will save, He will rejoice over thee with joy; He will rest in His love, He will joy over thee with singing.”
(ZEPHANIAH 3:17)

Can you fathom this? The Almighty GOD, the One who holds the stars in place, quiets Himself to sing songs of joy over you. This is the atmosphere in which we walk, not the thin air of religious performance, but the rich oxygen of divine delight.

The fear that once drove us is replaced by love that draws us. The insecurity that once paralyzed us is swallowed up by acceptance. We begin to walk differently, not with the anxious haste of those who must prove their worth, but with the confident stride of beloved children who know their Father’s smile rests upon them.

II. The Pathway: Faith as the Substance of the Journey:

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report.”
(HEBREWS 11:1-2)

Faith is not merely the door by which we enter the Christian life; it is the very ground upon which we walk every subsequent step. The just shall live by faith, not merely begin by faith, but live by it, moment by moment, decision by decision.

“As it is written, The just shall live by faith.”
(ROMANS 1:17)

There is a profound mystery here that we must embrace: walking with GOD often means walking without full visibility. Consider Abraham, “the father of us all,” who “went out, not knowing whither he went.”

“By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.”
(HEBREWS 11:8)

He did not receive a detailed itinerary, a map with every stop marked and every danger noted. He received a promise and a Person, and that was sufficient.

This is the nature of the walk of faith. It is not blind trust in an uncertain future, but confident trust in a certain GOD. When we step forward in obedience, even when the path ahead seems obscured by mist, we discover that “the steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.”

“The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.”
(PSALM 37:23)

The Hebrew word for “ordered” here is kun, meaning to establish, to make firm, to prepare. GOD does not merely watch our steps from a distance; He prepares the ground before our feet touch it. He makes the crooked places straight and the rough places plain.

“Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain.”
(ISAIAH 40:4)

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”
(PSALM 119:105)

Notice the limited scope of this illumination: a lamp unto the feet, not the horizon. GOD gives us enough light for the next step, trusting that as we take it, the next measure of light will be given. This is the exercise of faith, trusting the Lamp-bearer more than we trust our own ability to see the destination. And herein lies a paradox: the walk of faith, though it may feel uncertain to our natural minds, is actually the most secure path possible, for it is walked hand-in-hand with the One who knows the end from the beginning.

III. The Turning of Pages: New Chapters in the Divine Narrative

“Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”
(ISAIAH 43:19)

One of the most glorious aspects of walking with our almighty Living GOD is that He is not a GOD of dead ends. The path of the righteous is “as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.”

“But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.”
(PROVERBS 4:18)

There is always a forward motion, always a “new thing” being birthed, always a fresh chapter waiting to be written.

We must understand that GOD’S ways are not merely restorative, returning us to some former state, but transformative and progressive. He does not merely heal the past; He opens doors to futures we could not have imagined. When the Israelites stood at the edge of the Red Sea, with Pharaoh’s army behind them and the impassable waters before them, Moses declared, “Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD.”

“And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.”
(EXODUS 14:13)

But notice what happened next: GOD did not merely deliver them from the Egyptians; He delivered them into a new season of freedom, provision, and destiny.

This is what GOD does. He specializes in impossible transitions. The barren becomes fruitful. The captive becomes free. The broken becomes whole. And in our individual lives, He opens chapters that we did not know existed in the book of our days.

Perhaps you stand today at what feels like a closed door, a career ended, a relationship broken, a dream deferred. Hear the word of the LORD: “I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it.”

“I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.”
(REVELATION 3:8)

The GOD who parted the sea, who brought water from the rock, who made the sun stand still, this GOD is not intimidated by your obstacles. He is preparing a table before you in the presence of your enemies.

“Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.”
(PSALM 23:5)

He is making streams in the wasteland and pathways through the wilderness.

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love GOD, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
(ROMANS 8:28)

This is not a naive promise that only good things will happen to us, but a profound assurance that GOD is so sovereign, so wise, so loving, that He weaves even our sorrows, our mistakes, and our disappointments into a tapestry of redemption. The chapters He opens are not always the chapters we would have chosen, but they are always the chapters that lead to the fullest expression of His glory in our lives.

IV. The Transformation: Walking in the Freedom of the Sons of GOD

“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith CHRIST hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.”
(GALATIANS 5:1)

“Now the LORD is that SPIRIT: and where the SPIRIT of the LORD is, there is liberty.”
(2 CORINTHIANS 3:17)

Here we arrive at the heart of the matter: the ultimate purpose of the walk is transformation. We are not merely being led from place to place; we are being changed from glory to glory.

“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the LORD, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the SPIRIT of the LORD.”
(2 CORINTHIANS 3:18)

This is the miracle of grace: that as we walk with GOD, we become like GOD, not in His essence, but in His character. The fears that once enslaved us lose their power. The sins that once dominated us lose their appeal. The opinions of others that once dictated our choices lose their weight. We are set free, free to be who we were created to be, free to love without selfishness, free to serve without resentment, free to hope without despair.

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
(JOHN 8:32)

Freedom is not the absence of boundaries; it is the presence of truth. The bird is not free because it ignores the laws of aerodynamics, but because it submits to them and soars. We are not free when we cast off all restraint and follow every impulse; we are free when we align ourselves with the One who designed us, who knows our frame and remembers that we are dust.

“For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.”
(PSALM 103:14)

This freedom is the atmosphere of the walk. It is the joy of the LORD that becomes our strength.

“Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our LORD: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”
(NEHEMIAH 8:10)

It is the peace that passes understanding that guards our hearts and minds.

“And the peace of GOD, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through CHRIST JESUS.”
(PHILIPPIANS 4:7)

It is the ability to say, with Paul, “I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.”

“Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.”
(PHILIPPIANS 4:11)

And this freedom is contagious. When we walk in liberty, we liberate others. When we refuse to live in the prison of past regrets or future anxieties, we demonstrate to a watching world that there is a better way, that the yoke of CHRIST is easy, and His burden is light.

“For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
(MATTHEW 11:30)

V. The Fulness of the Blessing: The Overflow of the Abundant Life

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
(JOHN 10:10)

“Blessed be the GOD and Father of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in CHRIST.”
(EPHESIANS 1:3)

We come now to the crowning truth: this walk is not merely duty; it is delight. It is not merely sacrifice; it is satisfaction. The Christian life, when lived in the fullness of GOD’S intention, is not a drudgery to be endured but a blessing to be enjoyed.

The Psalmist declared, “Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.”

“Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.”
(PSALM 16:11)

Notice the superlatives: fulness of joy, pleasures for evermore. This is not a stingy, begrudging existence. This is abundant life, pressed down, shaken together, and running over.

“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
(LUKE 6:38)

There is a profound fulfillment that comes from walking in alignment with one’s purpose. When we use the gifts GOD has given us, when we walk in the good works He has prepared for us.

“For we are his workmanship, created in CHRIST JESUS unto good works, which GOD hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
(EPHESIANS 2:10)

When we love as we have been loved, there is a deep, resonant satisfaction that the world cannot replicate. It is the satisfaction of functioning according to design, of a clock keeping perfect time, of a violin singing in perfect pitch.

“O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.”
(PSALM 34:8)

This is an invitation to experience, not merely to intellectualize. The Christian walk is meant to be tasted, savored, enjoyed. The love of GOD is meant to be felt. The peace of GOD is meant to be experienced. The joy of the LORD is meant to be our present reality, not merely our future hope.

Let’s summarize this Bible Study together:

To walk with GOD is to walk in LOVE, surrounded by it, rooted in it, secure in it. It is to know ourselves the objects of divine affection, and to let that knowledge transform every interaction, every decision, every dream.

To walk with GOD is to walk by FAITH, not with perfect sight, but with perfect trust. It is to take the next step illuminated by the lamp of GOD’S Word, confident that the One who leads us is faithful.

To walk with GOD is to walk into NEW CHAPTERS, to live with expectation that GOD is always doing a new thing, always opening doors, always making ways where there seem to be none. It is to refuse to let past disappointments write the script of our future.

To walk with GOD is to walk in FREEDOM, liberated from sin, from fear, from the opinions of others, from the tyranny of our own fallen nature. It is to become, by the SPIRIT’S power, more and more like JESUS.

And to walk with GOD is to walk in FULNESS, to experience the abundant life JESUS promised, to know joy unspeakable, peace unexplainable, and love unfathomable.

This is not a theoretical existence. This is the birthright of every child of GOD. This is the “so great salvation” that has been purchased for us at infinite cost and offered to us as a free gift.

“How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the LORD, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him.”
(HEBREWS 2:3)

This is the walk that is “altogether lovely.”

“His mouth is most sweet: yea, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem.”
(SONG OF SOLOMON 5:16)

“But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.”
(1 CORINTHIANS 12:31)

This is the “more excellent way.”

Let us humble ourselves, and lift our prayer request, before GOD’s Holy Throne-Room:

Dear LORD, almighty HEAVENLY FATHER’,
We come before You now with hearts full of gratitude and wonder. Thank You, O GOD, that You have not left us to wander aimlessly in this world, but have invited us to walk with You, to know Your love, to trust Your leading, to experience Your transforming power, and to taste the sweetness of Your presence. Dear LORD, almighty HEAVENLY FATHER’, You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Teach us what it means to abide in You, to let Your words find a home in our hearts, to walk as You walked, in love, in humility, in obedience, and in the power of the SPIRIT. We confess that we have often tried to walk in our own strength, and we have stumbled. We have often looked to the right or to the left, envying the paths of others, rather than keeping our eyes fixed on You. Forgive us, we pray. HOLY SPIRIT, breathe upon us fresh power for the journey. Open our eyes to see the new chapters You are writing in our lives. Give us courage to step through doors of opportunity, even when we cannot see what lies beyond. Transform us, we pray, from glory to glory, from strength to strength, from faith to faith. Let the fruit of Your indwelling, love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance, be evident in our lives. Set us free, dear almighty LORD, free from every chain of the past, free from every fear of the future, free to love without reservation, free to serve without grumbling, free to worship without distraction. Let the liberty of the sons of GOD be our daily experience. And may we never lose the wonder of it all. Keep us from becoming religious drudges who have forgotten the joy of salvation. Let laughter ring in our hearts. Let praise be continually in our mouths. Let gratitude mark our steps. Let us be known not merely as people who are right, but as people who are radiant, with the light of Your presence, with the warmth of Your love, with the hope of Your promises. We thank You that the path of the just is as the shining light, shining more and more unto the perfect day. We thank You that You lead us in paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake. We thank You that goodness and mercy shall follow us all the days of our lives, and that we shall dwell in Your house forever./”Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.” (PSALM 23:6) Go with us now, dea LORD almighty dear HEAVENLY FATHER’. Write beautiful new chapters in our life. Make our lives testimonies of Your grace. And may everything we do bring glory to Your name, from this day forth and forevermore. Thank You dear LORD, almighty HEAVENLY FATHER’, Hear our prayers throughout the mighty, glorious, fulfilling name of, JESUS CHRIST, AMEN!
